Please Call Governor Kaine Today! On Saturday, February 24, the 2007 Virginia General Assembly session adjourned Sine Die. With the legislative session completed, several pro-gun measures are still awaiting Governor Tim Kaine’s (D) consideration. Please contact the Governor’s office and strongly encourage him to sign the following bills in their current form: House Bill 2653, sponsored by Delegate Lingamfelter (R-31), prohibits gun dealer entrapment schemes, such as those orchestrated by NYC Mayor Bloomberg; House Bill 2106, sponsored by State Delegate Charles Carrico (R-5), repeals authority for localities to require fingerprints for initial Right-to-Carry permit applicants; House Bill 2308, also sponsored by State Delegate Scott Lingamfelter, provides that counties may adopt model hunting regulations as provided by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DGIF); and House Bill 2547, also sponsored by Delegate Carrico, clarifies that localities may not regulate possession of firearms on public roadways, except for the purposes of hunting. Again, please contact Governor Kaine and strongly urge him to sign these important bills into law. You can contact Governor Kaine at (804)-786-2211 or send him an email by clicking here.
